i downloaded the pdf to add a window to shed.It basically outlined the names of each type of board header, jack and king stud cripple stud I want to add a window but it doesn’t outline what type of wood to use 2×4 or 2×6 no measurements.Im not a builder super rookie. It does the same thing when adding a door.No measurements even though you decide the dimensions of the door.I have no idea how big a recommended door should be to a shed.Any help appreciated here is the link. The plans are fantastic otherwise even I was able to easily follow them other then openings.Window    Door    8×8 shed plan×8-step-by-step/

If you’re building with 2×4’s, then you’ll use 2×4’s for the door and window framing.  You will also keep the same spacing (I think the shed calls for 24″ spacing between studs, though it may be 16″).  Essentially, though, you’ll want to pick whatever size window you want to use and then frame around it accordingly while maintaining the spacing of the studs and beefing up around the window frame as shown in the plans.  The same goes for the door – choose what you’re going to add and build around that.  I suspect the addition plans are intentionally vague since they don’t know if you’re going to be adding a 32″ access door, or a 48″ double door, or something else entirely!
