Door
Floor
- 2 – 2×6 (pressure treated) – 8′
- 7 – 2×6 (pressure Treated) – 7′ 9″
Floor joist are 16″ on center. Use 3 1/2″ nails to assemble.
Square the floor frame by measuring diagonally until both sides measure the same.
- 2 – 4×4 (pressure-treated) – 10′
Attach the 4×4 skids to the frame using 3 1/2″ nails.
- 2 – 3/4″ tongue and groove plywood – 4′ x 8′ sheet
Screw 2″ deck screws through the floor deck and into the floor frame.
Walls
Front and Back Wall Frame:
- 4 – 2×4 – 8′
- 22 – 2×4 – 7′ 6″
- 2 – 2×4 – 7′ 5″
Wall studs are 16″ on center, assemble the wall frame using 3 1/2″ nails.
Door Framing:
Here is a close up look of the front and back wall frame ends.
Right and Left Wall Frame
- 4 – 2×4 – 7′ 5″
- 14 – 2×4 – 7′ 6″
- 2 – 2×4 – 8′
Frame the right and left wall frame as shown on drawing above. Use 3 1/2″ nails to assemble.
Raise and secure wall frames using 3 1/2″ nails.
Truss/Rafters
Shed truss details.
- 14 – 2×4 – 5′ 2 9/16″ (26.5-degree angle cut on one end)
- 7 – 2×4 – 8′ (63.5-degree angle cut on both ends)
Make gussets out of 1/2″ plywood and assemble truss using 2″ nails.
Install roof truss 16″ O.C. using 3 1/2″ nails.
Siding
- 10 – t1-11 exterior siding – 4’x8′ sheet (cut to size)
Cut and install the t1-11 exterior siding using 1 1/2″ finishing nails.
Roof
- 12 – 2×4 – 21 3/4″
Notch truss and siding as shown on drawing above. Install outriggers using 3 1/2″ nails.
- 4 – 2×4 – 5′ 2 9/16″ (26.5-degree angle cut on one end)
Install the 2×4 roof trim using 3″ finishing nails.
- 2 – 2×4 – 8′ (cut to size)
Cut 2×4’s to size and install between the roof truss using 3 1/2″ nails.
Cut t1-11 exterior siding to size and install between roof truss using 1 1/2″ finishing nails.
- 4 – 1/2″ plywood – 4’x8′ sheet (cut to size)
Measure, cut, and install 1/2″ plywood for the roof deck using 1 1/2″ nails.
Install roofing felt, drip edge, and shingles.
Trim
- 4 – 1×4 – 8′ (cut to size)
- 4 – 1×4 -10′ (cut to size)
Cut to size 1×4’s for the corner trim, install using 1 1/2″ finishing nails.
