  • 4 – 4×4 (pressure treated) – 96 in.
  • 3 – 4×4 (pressure treated) – 89 in.
  • 18 – 2×4 – 96 in.
  • 33 – 2×4 – 93 in.
  • 7 – 2×4 – 89 in.
  • 4 – 2×4 – 28 in.
  • 4 – 2×4 – 92-1/2 in.
  • 6 – 2×4 – 29-1/2 in.

Shopping List


Pressure treated 4x4 floor base.

Floor Base

  • 4 – 4×4 (pressure treated) – 96 in.
  • 3 – 4×4 (pressure treated) – 89 in.

Level the ground, and place the 4×4’s as shown on drawing above. Use a level to get the 4×4 floor base leveled, the bird aviary will be set on top of the 4×4 floor base.


Make six wall frames as shown below, two for the front, two for the back, and two for the roof.

Front/Back Wall and Roof

  • 18 – 2×4 – 96 in.
  • 18 – 2×4 – 93 in.

Use 3 inch deck screw, pre-drill and assemble as shown on drawing above.


Notch wall frames for 2x4 brace.

Notch as shown on drawing. The size of the notch is 3-1/2 inches and 1-1/2 inches deep. For a tighter fit measure your 2×4 and notch using the measurements from your 2×4.


Front back wall and roof panel, 2x4 brace.

Install the 2×4 brace as shown on drawing above, pre-drill, and attach brace with 3 inch deck screws.


Front and back wall, hardware cloth installed.

Paint or stain the wall frames. Cut and install the hardware cloth using 1/2 inch staples.

Secure the front and back walls using 3 inch deck screws, use temporary 2×4’s as supports to hold walls in place.


Left wall frame assembly.

Left Wall

  • 3 – 2×4 – 93 in.
  • 3 – 2×4 – 89 in.

Use 3 inch deck screw, pre-drill and assemble as shown on drawing above.


Left wall, notch for brace.

Notch as shown on drawing. The size of the notch is 3-1/2 inches and 1-1/2 inches deep. For a tighter fit measure your 2×4 and notch using the measurements from your 2×4.

  • 12 – 2×4 – 93 in.
  • 4 – 2×4 – 28 in.

Use 3 inch deck screw, pre-drill and assemble as shown on drawing above.

Paint or stain the wall frame. Cut and install the hardware cloth as shown on drawing using 1/2 inch staples.

Secure the right wall and inside wall using 3 inch deck screws.

Install and secure the roof using 3 inch deck screws.


Bird Aviary Door Parts Measurements

Doors

  • 4 – 2×4 – 92-1/2 in.
  • 6 – 2×4 – 29-1/2 in.

Cut the 2×4’s to size, notch 3/4 in. deep as shown on drawing above.


Bird Aviary Door Frame

Use exterior wood glue, pre drill holes, 1-1/4 in. deck screws, and assemble.


Bird Aviary Door

Paint or stain the door frame. Cut and install the hardware cloth using 1/2 inch staples.

Install the door hinges, and install door. Install door latch.
