The 10×10 gambrel shed floor is built with pressure treated 2×6’s and pressure treated 4×4’s.
Cut two 2×6’s to 10′ long for the band. Cut nine 2×6’s to 9′ 9″ long for the floor joist. Nail 3 1/2″ nails through the 2×6 band and into the floor joist. Floor joist 16″ O.C.
Attach the 10′ long 4×4 pressure treated skids to the bottom of the floor frame. Square out the floor frame by measuring diagonally until both sides measure the same. Secure the 4×4 skids by nailing 3 1/2″ nails through the floor frame and into the 4×4 skids.
Front and back wall frames. The shed wall frame is built using 2×4’s.
The wall studs are 16″ O.C.
Assemble the back wall frame as shown on illustration above ( see illustration below for close up view ).
The front wall frame will have a door and, for instructions on framing the door or window see the pages below:
Assemble the front and back wall frame using 3 1/2″ nails.

Hi, I’m interested in the 10’x10′ Gambrel shed plan. Thanks for posting it. I’m a single mom in post-Irma Florida, and need a shed that will suit our needs (very dry storage/super-secret clubhouse in loft), yet hold together properly. Where might I find advice in regard to materials, extra precautions, and what a Floridian might use underneath the floor, please? After this last month, I’m thinking a slab…a *tall* slab…definitely something raised higher than the slab on my (now leaky) addition. 😉 LOL
Hi, and thank you for posting these plans.
I’m planning to build this 10×10 gambrel shed on nine or more deck blocks — one at each corner and others throughout the base — and I’d like to know if this means I can omit the 4×4 skids under the floor and have the floor rest directly on the blocks?
Thanks again and all the best.
Peter
Hi. I downloaded this and did NOT donate yet because I wanted to see what it was. I like this, but our local bi-law states that the total structure cannot be more than 11′ 9″ high.
I will need to modify the roof so that it has:
1) no more than 11′ 5″ high
2) includes a loft area where we can slide in spare material that can hold a 4X8 sheet of plywood and our extra wood stock.
Would you be able to do that ? Please contact me and we can also talk about donation.
Thanks very much for this.
Mark
I’d like to see the plans for making this a little shorter, too.
I would like to see the modified plans as well. Thanks
Sorry, I forgot to mention I don’t need the loft. I just lay things across the rafters.
The plywood for the truss gussets was left off the shopping list and the dimensions for the gussets is not shown. The dimensions are different from the barn shed as it uses 2×6 trusses and this shed uses 2×4 trusses. I plan on using metal panels for the roof instead of asphalt shingles.
