I save almost everything you send. Bought a property in Scotland and I will have chickens, pygmy goats, pygmy burro and a cow. Pegulas, sheβs, planters all will warm up the 1803 farmhouse I adore. It needs a front porch and a swing.
Looks Great. Love it thanks

Your 2×4 planter box plans absolutely suck. First of all you need more than (6) 2x4x 8β wood. Secondly, your cutting measurements leave huge gaps (like 1/4β or more) between pieces. Thatβs sloppy. I have no respect for someone who could put this out there as helpful. Have you even tried to make this planter following your plans?
Wow! A little kindness here? There is a way to comment without being mean…
I have added more drawings. The plans are based on the actual dimensions of a 2×4, 1 1/2″ x 3 1/2″, I don’t know why you got 1/4″ gaps. You will need 7 2×4’s not 6. You can see a picture of this project here https://www.construct101.com/forums/topic/diy-2×4-planter-box/ Hope that helps.
You suck Deanna!
Deanna is a troll and unfortunately doesn’t have the slightest idea how to count. It requires 6 not 7. Do us a favor and tell us when and where the garage sale is for your saws-all and scrapbook collection.
Deanna, why so mean?
two 2×4 are 3 in an a quarter wide when butted up together, i noticed from the plan without building it, put to 2X4 together, it wont be exactly 3 inches, you need to calm down
very bad comment π‘
You seem like a delight.
It looks like some people need more than a material list and diagrams.
I think that everything published was enough to do the job.
Do you recommend using weedblock film to line the box with? In order to prolong life of the wood…
Also, I’m considering sealing all the seams inside between edges of the 2×4’s with exterior caulking. Any thoughts? Only thing I worry about with that is over the years the boards could shrink or swell and defeat the seal.
BTW I built mine larger than your plans call for, and even then the plans worked great. Whoever got crappy with their comments earlier needs to back away from the workshop.
Thanks
i would use a nice weather protecting sealer inside, or a thick plastic, flex seal paint is a good option too for speed, get a cheap sponge brush, 2 coats, it will stay sealed, good luck guys, an gals

I found that when attaching βBβ (1β 5 1/2 β) to 5 βAβ boards that there is a difference of 1/2!
Laying the 5 βAβ boards next to each other equals 18β but attaching the βBβ boards at 17
1/2β leaves 1/4β gap on wach end of the βBβ boards.
Did I miss something?
If your 2×4 measure 3-1/2 inches, 5 boards equal 17-1/2 inches.
Whether the plans are perfect or not is really no excuse for the poison comments! Surely people can be a bit more polite. Be kind to others, treat them as you would want to be treated!
