  1. I found a few problems and items left off of the shopping list.

    – The 2×4 should be 10′, not 8′. I came up a couple of feet short.

    – You don’t need 4 hinges, you need 8.

    – 2″ deck screws is left off the shopping list.

Other than that, it’s a pretty straight forward project. I’d recommend painting before assembling.

  2. Hi Jake, I plan to build this in a 6’x7′ or 6’x8′ model as I have 3 grandchildren who will use this at once.

Do you have a set of plans for the larger sandbox already done. I know it will not be a lot of work to make it bigger.

    Thanks

  3. Your plans are always great, i love them and share them with all my friends and family.

  4. So nobody noticed until I got to the hinges part that 2″ screws are too long to go into 1″ boards. Now I’m stumbling around trying to find screws that are 3/4″ because the boards when cut are less then 1″. Need to update the list.

  5. Excellent plan.

Thank you so much. Just built this for my grandkids.

  6. Easy and the end result looks great.

  7. Built this yesterday and it was The second one I built and it’s a fun project. The lists are very good and make things straight forward.

  8. I just got a request to build another one of these sand boxes. I added four pull handles and a roof with 3/8” plywood and painted it red. Fun job. The kids I gave this to are having a great time with this. Thanks for the plans.

  9. Hi. I am looking at the plans. Can anyone tell me how many screws of each size we need?

  10. Is there a recommendation for the finish on the hinges? Also what size hinge is recommended?
