Building Details

Cut two 3/4″ plywood to 15″ x 40″ for the front and back (A). Cut two 3/4″ plywood to 15″ x 14 1/4″ for the sides (B). Cut one 3/4″ plywood to 15″ x 40″ for the bottom (C).

Assemble as shown on illustration above using  glue and 1 1/2″ wood screws. Drill pilot holes before installing screws.

Cut two 1×6’s to 41 1/2″ for the front and back trim (D), the corners will have a 45 degree bevel cut. Cut two 1×6’s to 18″ for the side trim (E) the corners will have a 45 degree bevel cut. Apply glue, drill pilot holes, and install trim with 1 1/2″ finishing nails.

Cut two 1×4’s to 41 1/2″ for the top trim (F), the corners will have a 45 degree bevel cut. Cut two 1×4’s to 18″ for the top side trim (G), the corners will have a 45 degree bevel cut. Apply glue, drill pilot holes, and install trim using 1 1/2″ finishing nails.

Cut four 1×4’s to 9″ for the corner trim (H), the corners will have a 45 degree bevel cut. Apply glue, drill pilot holes, and install trim using 1 1/2″ finishing nails.

Cut a 3/4″ plywood to 15″ x 40″ for the seat (I).

Rip a 1×4 to 3/4″ strips to make a trim around the seat board. 43″ (J), corners will have a 45 degree angle cut. 19 1/2″ (K), corners will have a 45 degree angle cut. Apply glue, drill pilot holes, and install seat trim using 1 1/2″ finishing nails.

Rip a 1×4 to 2″ strips.  Cut one strip to 40″ for the top seat boards (L). Cut two strips to 18″ for the top seat board (M) round the ends as shown on illustration above. Apply glue, drill pilot holes, and nail 1 1/2″ finishing nails through the bottom of the seat (I) and into the seat board (L)(M). Attach the seat using 2″ hinges.
